Found it on another forum, it was silently aging in Colorado.

Thinking about using it for a 450 Ackley build on my BBK action. BBK is also NOS.

Got the reamer, dies, cases and a McMillian stock to fit the BBK.

I have Rockwell tested it to be sure it is OK.

I recall, as a penniless teenager, back in the 1960's, reading the Douglas brochure and it was mentioned they Rockwell tested all receivers prior to barreling.

Heat treated 4140. Made by the now defunct Olympic Arms.

I worked at Olympic Arms as a machinist during that time frame.The castings were done in Korea and machined at OLy.An attempt was made to blow up one of the actions.Various overloads were tried without success.The last overload involved Bullseye powder.The case head melted and locked the action up.Barrel was removed and bolt
gotten out.The lugs seats were not set back and bolt appeared to be servicable after cleaning oof the melted brass.

I really like the action. Very robust. Better trigger arrangement than my CZ550.

This action just begs for a "rough & tough" cartridge, what could be better than Parker Ackley's 450??
