323ruger 77 hawkeye
I have one in a 358 and I'm havign problems with it. I handload for it and I'm getting some serious misfires... I'm using cci 250 primers as well reason using blc-2 and it is dang near a compressed load. it is like every other round will misfires there is a indent in the primer but nothing. Now I thought it was my and I touched the primers with lube but I have loaded a different round 7mm-08 but using cci 200 and they have shot fine in another ruger hawkeye. I don't know if I got ahold of some bad primers but I don't think it is that becuase I used the same primers in my 308 norma mag and they all shot fine. So I think it's in the firing pin. What are your thoughts and if it is in the firing pin where can I find info on taking the bolt apart to take a look at it.

bulbwerksI definately think you should pull your fiing pin assembly out and check for a burr in the firing pin hole or on the firing pin itself. If that is normal degrease the whole assembly and make sure it wasn't just gunk built up or not removed at the factory.

blackbearhunterTry winchester or federal primers.cci primers are super hard...last batch i had ...i could barely prime them in the brass they were very hard and tight & all my hangfires i have ever experianced were with cci brand primers....winchester & federal have allways worked like a charm...I had several primers fail thru the years with a ruger 77 internatinal 30-06 and remington corelok factory loads,I would just take the bullet with the indented primer, reload it again in the chamber and it allways went off the second time!Go figure!Luckly i was shooting at a target everytime,I switched to winchester silvertips after that and never had a problem.....
