They pull the Leupolds apart and paint them with, I believe Dura-Coat.

I have had Premier perform all sorts of wild and wonderful modifications to some of my Leupolds over the years, and have never been disappointed. Their stock paint jobs don't appeal to me, but "eye of the beholder" and all that.

I have a silver leupold I would like to make matte black, so I am not even sure if it can be done. I wonder if an automotive spray paint shop could do a scope ??

I was not aware the Premier offered this service. I have 4-5 scopes with custom reticles they installed, and have nothing but the best to say about their quality service and products. There is aalso a guy named Jim Spradlin, who I believe is authorized by Leupold, who can refinish the exterior of Leupold scopes. He advertises in Rifle and other magazines. I have not used him, but you might contact the Leupold people first to make sure whataver he does doesn't violate your warranty. Or try doing it yourself. His number is 719-275-7105.

Will Spradlin & Premier refurbish other vintage scopes (optics and the finish)? I don't like using Parsons.

I have been doing business with Premier for 20 years and I was not aware that they did exterior finishing of scopes.

While they certainly have the expertise I don’t believe they work on any scopes other than Leupolds at this time.

They would be the best source for the information though.

Approximately, what does a refinish cost? Do you know if they can they change matte black to matte silver?

If I remember correctly, the cost was ~$60 per scope for 3 at once...seems like it was $75/scope if done one at a time. I don't know if they can do matte silver or not.
