Nightforce Screws
I have a one-piece nightforce mount that im going to stick on a remington 700. I had planned to drill out the existing holes and tap in a new thread but wasnt 100% sure on the thread size. its deffinatly 40tpi.

they look to be the same size screws as they use in there rings.

the 5/32 tap i have is just to small.

I'll call them and ask this morning... I didn't realize you we're in NZ. I have 2 NF scopes and a set of 15 MOA Bases but no rings.

Can you clarify wh1ch ring (or base)screws you're trying to get info on? If you're looking for the right screw for the 700 it might be a Remington question.

8-40 is what you are looking at.

The formula for Number size screw o.d. is: The number X .013 plus .060.
6 X .013 + .060 = .138"
8 X .013 + .060 = .164"
Screws are often a few thou smaller than the "theoretical nominal" diameter but you get the idea.

I am replacing the remington 700 screws with the nightforce ones supplied with the one peice base. apparently bigger and stronger
