loud-n-boomerConvert KKale Turk to a small ring?
I know that this will take some work, and is probably not worth the effort, but does anybody know of a technical reason why this would not be practical. The barrel threads are already set for small shank barrels, so after careful recontouring, I would think that other than the normal cleanup and polishing stuff, it would just require casehardening and one would have a small-ring M98.

Yes, one reason is that the clearance cut just ahead of the inner "c" ring is cut to the same depth on most of these actions as it is on a standard LR 98. If they were shallower it would be viable. That's why that treatment is popular on the 1909 Peruvian.
Sorry I meant to say 1909 Peruvian. I should not post before my morning coffee.

Do you know what the depth of the clearance cut on a small ring action is?
