Timney instructions???
Guys,

Am moving a 1903 Springfield sporter from a wood stock to a B&C synthetic stock. The action was fitted with a Timney trigger many, many years ago and the instruction sheet is long gone.

Can anyone:

1) guide me to the instruction sheet on the web, (Timney's website seems to have lapsed and Google doesn't quickly find an installation discussion)

2) scan one and send me the jpeg, or

3) send me xerox of one?

I would really appreciate it. When I put the action into the stock and tighten the action screws, the trigger is locked up and I have to free it with the action out of the stock. Problem is that I cannot tell what is causing it to release once out of the stock.

Many thanks!

Do a search on this site because that same request has been posted within the last month or so.

Rick,

The site citation given in the Nov 23 (what year??) string is no longer valid (http://timneytrigger.com). Drops you in a link site for everything but Timney Manufacturing. Reading through the others has not been fruitful.

It appears that eventually Will sent one in answer to a previous post.

Try this http://www.timneytriggers.com

I think this is the URL but I don't know if it will have what you are looking for.

Thank you ... that url is the one that was listed in several posts as being a porn site. Appartently Timney finally got ownership of the name and is using it.

Unfortunately, they are not putting up any instruction sheets on-line.

Why not remove some material from the stock where the trigger fits. Sounds like you are binding things up when you tighten the screws. The B&C stock was not made for after market/bulkier triggers.

I had to do this when I installed a Timney on one of my rifles with the original stock.

Hog Killer,

Have done considerable relieving of the of the area as the timney is much wider than the original slot. Did find that I had not removed enough material at the right front edge of the slot. This material was pushing on the side plate causing the trigger to lock up. I moved that edge back 0.025" or so and it freed things up.

Will finish inletting the bottom metal and make the pillars tomorrow.
