strip super glue stock finish?
Is this a job for solvent or just careful sanding back to raw wood? If it matters I will redo it with oil.

In the shop we use a scraper to remove it. This leaves the pores filled. You can remove it with a paste type remover but you need to put it in a plastic bag of some sorts overnight so it won't dry out.

Goof Off Super Glue Remover. Smells awful. Wear gloves.

If you don't get carried away, you can get the surface clean and leave the pores mostly filled.

Thanks! I will start with the goof off and see how it goes from there.

I file the teeth off old hacksaw blades and scrape it off, the square sharp edges cut deep and smooth leaving the wood shiny and pores filled somewhat..Still use the same procedure to finish the stock..I use filler and wet sand two or three coats then back to wood and use a good wood finish like True Oil, Linspeed, I also like boiled LInseed with lead oxide mixed in and a dryer, it darkens walnut in a hurry and really is a durable and pretty finish. Finishes differ in who the finisher is, some like one and others like something different and it depends on who and how its used..What works for one stockmaker may not work for another..

Certainly not green but Aircraft Stripper (MEK, Methyl Eythel Keytone) will certainly dissolve it. Then you have to clean the wood, dry it, fill the grain and restain.

Yep, nasty stuff. Fortunately been out of the paint business for 10 years now. But have handled many of the nasty coatings chemicals in my time.
