LUISQuick question
I have a 7mm remmington action; can I use this action to build a 280AI? I think that the bolt face is the wrong g size.

RojelioSure, just change the bolt body. I'm not sure about the magazine and follower. You might have to change those, too, to get it to feed right.

Woops, did you mean 7mm Rem. mag., or a 7mm/08 or mauser on a Remington action?

LUISOps I forgot a 7 rem mag.

aliveinccLuis, we need more info. Rem 7-08 actions are almost always "short actions" ie for 308 length cartridges. TOO short for the 280AI.
7x57 Rem action "may" be long enough if it built on a "standard action" . The bolt face for the 7x57 is the same as the 280AI.
A 7mm Rem mag action is long enough, but the bolt face is .532 and the 280AI bolt face is .473.
If it is a 7nn Rem mag, is there something wrong w/ it? It's a little more cartridge than the 280AI AND you can get ammo for it anywhere.

It's called being scammed. It was a typical "bait and switch" scam.
I wasn't fooled, though.
