claybreakerRem 700 Barrel screws... where from ?
I have Rem 700 (30-06) that has sights mounted on the barrel. I want to remove the sights and plug the mounting holes with "plug" screws (no head... only a slot). E-gunsparts.com does not list them in their parts break down.
The question is where do I get them ???
Thanks,
Wally

claybreakerYeah I see'em in the Brownell's catalog. Anybody happen to know what size(s) is in the barrel before I pull'em ?
Front and rear same size ?
I have to order a dozen...ARRRRRG!
Thanks,

DFCThey are 6-48, most any gunshop that mounts scopes should have some, as they are the same screws that come out of the holes used to mpunt the scope

In the 6X48 thread screw, Brownells offers 2 kinds. If you get the 'positive stop' plug screws, you will need to countersink the screw hole so the head of the plug screw will sit flush, otherwise it will snag rags. I personally would go with the "non-positive stop" plug screw and use a medium thread locker to hold it flush. I believe the item number is 080-533-648.
