What Mil-surp rifle for a 50/110 rebore?
What mil-surp rifle would be good for a 50/110 conversion? Saw in another post where someone converted a French MAS to 45/70. But would a 50/110 be do-able? Safely of course.

Probably not what you had in mind, but a large frame Martini comes to mind...

If you can do a siamese, a P-14 enfield will work too.

Anyone know where I could find a Siamese Mauser or a P14? My local guy only carries a few Turk Mausers, Springfield 03a3s, and maybe an Enfield or 2. That's all of the mil-surps he carries.

Siam Mausers are listed on all three, and I'm sure you'll find P14's also.

Could I use an Enfield MK4?

There was an article a few years ago about converting a Lee Enfield, don't recall if it was a No. 4 or an SMLE, to .45-90.

KMM, are you planning on using it to shoot 36 point bucks, are you just going to continue to photoshop them and claim them as your own.

Be aware, KMM is a troll and is lying on the Trophy forum about shooting the "Brophy Buck" in Kentucky with a .22-250 at 75 yards.

not only that, he trolls the small game forum and threatens to turn us it for not loving kitty cats. Bet he's a commie.

Get the one with the original magazine and bolt. I would also get the one with the ears gone and holes tapped. You then need to open the rails. Then open the bolt face. Releive the extractor.

What is the OAL of a 50-110? I wonder if it is too long to fit into a P14, or Siamese.

OAL for a 50-110 is 2.88".....................at any rate this is the max oal for an 1886 winchester lever action.

PC,

Is 2.88" the length of the case or the cartridge (50-110)? It seems rather short. 458 Lott is 3.600" for comparison.

500,

that is the OAL Cartridge length..............it is a short dumpy round but big to be cramming into a lever gun if you know what I mean.

Must be the cartridge-the .50-110 Win. is just the .348 Win. with a neck to shoot .50 cal bullets. (or one could say the .348 is just a necked-down .50/110..... around 2.2" for case only, if I recall correctly from my .450 Alaskan days.)
