Mauser side hole and stock line question

Mauser side hole and stock line question
would you guess these holes will end up below the stock line? I don;t have anything mauser to compare to right now.

You should have no trouble getting the stock to this line or very close to it:

Off hand that middle hole looks pretty close, to me, anyway...

Depends on the stock I would say.

You have no cut-out so it may be that the stock follows the bottom of the bolt release. Or just half way up it. In which case you may or may not see the holes.

You need to view pictures of Mauser actions without the cut-out to see what I mean. Here on this FN you would not see the holes.

thanks everybody. Looks like i'll get lucky.

It's already on the way, as i got it for next to nothing, and as I was talking to a gunsmith friend about plugging or welding them, he mentioned that a lot of the euro sidemounts required fairly deep notching of the stock and that the holes may be hidden.
