M1Tankersmall ring intermediate 98 Mauser
Is there such a thing as a small ring intermediate 98 Mauser? I am daydreaming about a future custom project in a full stock 6.5x55 and it seems it would be the perfect size action.
So the next question is which models are such a critter if it exhists and which are the best ones to use.

JordanMexican Mauser is an intermediate small ring. Finding a good one at a decent price is getting harder.

Matt NormanWhy not a Husqvarna commercial M-96 action? Readily available, reasonably priced, all steel and designed for the 6.5x55 to begin with. It will handle any within reason pressure loading for the 6.5 Swede. Otherwise an HVA action. It might be 3/16ths of an inch longer but is still small ring and light weight. Both have been made into thousands of lightweight full-length stocked rifles.

Don SlaterTanker,
Here's one in 6.5X55 already! New full stock perhaps?
This what you had in mind, Matt?

22WRFYou could also go with a G.33/40 or a VZ-33 if you can find one.

cummins cowboyget a turk action, and install a swede milsurp barrel on it, should screw right on. now you have a twede, That would make a pretty cool bubba project, but it sounds like you are wanting something nice, I thought you liked the '96 action??
