Picked up an Italian police surplus 92, and its in great shape. the rear sight is in a dovetail, and plenty of options are available.

However........ the front sight is about the size of a small pimple..

I was thinking of grinding it off and welding a higher one on. there isn't enough meat on the slide to cut a dovetail, i don't think..

The other thought was to grind it off, and cut a slot for a 1911 front sight and stake that in..

Anyone have any other suggestions?

The Meprolight front sight for this pistol is larger and installs over the existing sight.
