Who do you guys recommend for metal refinishes and specifically parkerizing? Any preferences on low maintenance finishes? Intended use is for a big bore rifle carried daily on salmon streams, atv's, etc.

Go to the top of this page and use the search function. Type in the words rust blue and parkerizing. Then hold on and hope your computer doesn't lock up. You will get lots of info.

Thanks. I searched for "parkerize" before I asked the question and got little to nothing. It's amazing how much change "parkerizing" made on a search.

I followed the "rust blue vs. other finishes" thread until it turned into a food fight, and I still have a question. What is a good way to protect the rifle's bore in a coastal saltwater environment? Should I go stainless/Rustoleum or is there a finish I can have applied to carbon steel that will do as well?
