Sako Specialist?
Gentlemen,
I'm looking for someone who can give me a bit of advice regarding the appropriate Sako Optilock ring/base system for my A1 Benchrest in 6mm PPC. I want to mount a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-50x50. I've found the mounts for $85 or so, however, the folks selling them have no clue what to recommend. Contacted Accuflite and found they would sell me the appropriate mounts for $137. FFL and all... Anyone have a suggestion?

Regards, Matt.

Matt, Optilocks sit kind of high compared to Leupold and other rings. However, I believe the mediums will be too short, so the highs should work fine. Lou

P.S. I just spent three months in your neck of the woods. I attended the FBI Academy at Quantico. Beautiful country, except too much rain when I was there (April-June).

Matt - I have a A1 SS - 22ppc I'll take a look at it and let you know. From my memory the med height ring should work if that is a side focus model. I've got a Leupold 24x on mine and there is some good clearance. If you can get me the OD of the scope I should be able to nail it down for you.

My rifle is all original.

Are you using a scope cover that increases the O.D.? If so make an allowance for that as well.
