JTEXWTB Pre 64 take off barrel
Looking for a .300 H&H............. I know but it can't hurt to ask.

dpcdEasiest is to get a 30-06 and punch it out to 300 H&H. Re-mark and blue. 30-06 barrels are easy to get.

Ray BI had a 300H&H barrel off of a 1936 M70 that was removed to rebarrel the rifle to 375H&H. I took it to a gun show and the fellow behind the table just about dislocated his shoulder getting to his wallet to get the $15 that I was asking for it.

SalmoniodThe tulsa wanamacher show first weekend in april is an excellent place to find what you want. Just take a 300 weatherby case with you.

Actually, you can shoot 300 H&H through it with no problem. They're a bitch to resize after though !
Sorry! My inner asshole is coming out again.
Sorry. he he he he
When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

airgun1Number one a 30-06 Win 70 barrel is 24" whereas the 300 H&H is 26" so don't follow that advice.
If the 300 Wby is not remarked a decent machinist can install a chamber insert and recut the chamber to 300 H&H.
There are a lot of rechambered 300 H&H for sale that are not advertised as such. Be careful buying a used 300 H&H take off. As mentioned earlier take a 300 Wby and a 300 Win mag case with you to check the chamber. A lot were opened up to 300 Win mag when it came out too.
Pre 1950 Win 70 300 H&H are marked .300 Magnum; after 1950 are marked 300 H-H.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think the 300 Win Mag re-chamber will clean up the H&H chamber

airgun1It most definitely will not but a heck of a lot of people ran 300 Win Mag reamers into 300 H&H without setting them back; talk about freebore!
