ab_bentleyElectronic Checkering Tool
Now that J&R Engineering is no more, there was talk of someone producing a similar tool. Does anyone know who that might be?

ab_bentleyThey may still have the price lists up but Jon died in the spring, so the machine I and others had ordered aren't getting built.

dpcdMMC is long out of the checkering head business and so is J&R, only more recently. Sounds like a business opportunity here for some enterprising young entrepreneur. Basically, there are none being build now as far as I know.

A couple have said the email address doesn't work. No word back on phone contact.
Have no idea if this is a for real take over of the origianl biz and is set to go with it,,or just an empty box to sent money to.
I think I'll sharpen these little cutters my self, this is getting crazy,

BohicaI`m sorry AB I didn`t know he had passed away. I also found out a friend of mine, Joe Harz [J.D. Steele] passed on late last year. He was a whiz at the old Winchesters like the 1885 etc. He and this gentleman will be missed.
Aloha, Mark
I would look at what it would take to build them if someone has one to loan for engineering purposes.

frank4570Not good. I'm currently learning checkering with hand tools. I had planned to get an electric unit after I am doing some regular work.

Sounds like the value of a good used unit just went up..
