SevensBuffalo Horn
I'm contemplating putting a buffalo horn forend tip on a stock. Can you shape buffalo horn the same way you shape wood (wood rasp, sandpaper, etc)?
Does anyone know of a good place to get some buffalo horn too?
Thanks,

Mike in MichiganGoogle "buffalo horn for sale".
Horn works like hard wood or synthetics. Be warned that horn can carry diseases like anthrax that are released with the dust and chips so wear a good respirator when working it.
What Mike said.
I've bought Buffalo Horn knife handle slabs from a couple of different knife making supply houses.
Don't know if the have pieces large enough for a forend tip, but a call to them will answer that question.
Places like Sheffield, K&G Knife Making, and a couple of knife making suppliers in Texas, along with Jantz in Oklahoma are worth a check.
But, like Mike says, use a respirator when working it.
It does finish up beautifully though.
