Chuck NelsonI'm sorry, but I can not help myself!
Are you not the custom model 70 "expert" that told me I was full of crap on the subject! Or have I got the wrong guy?
Unbelievable!

I gotta laugh a little too

You're some character...
Congratulations on your purchase anyways. Keep in mind that there may only be one gunsmith in Quebec that I would trust to modify any rifle, let alone, build any custom rifle, or worse, the mother of all custom rifles

Please read comments on other gunsmiths across Canada.

shootawayTrigger is amazingly crisp. It feeds more easy than my remington. Once you take the floor plate off the bolt cycles really smooth. To my surprise the stock has the lug and rear tang area glass bedded!Passed some patches down the bore and it feels super smooth.I feel so good about this rifle that I got a second one in arriving in the mail. This one will be a super grade as I plan on taking it hunting.

IvanI, well my wife...

just got a new winchester too. Its a blued feather weight chambered in 325wsm. It came bedded with a small dab of steel bed or something of the like, it needs more as the amount is just barley enough to lock in the lug. Its not the crap that they used to use the hot glue junk, but actual hard plastic. All in all I think the action is pretty well put together, looks justs as nice as my pre-64, and I think actually feeds better/smoother.
A couple things about it I was not impressed with was it came dirty as hell! I'm not sure what all the grit and chit was inside the action, but it was friggn bad! I could see some oil and gunk, but it was grit that you could feel as you cycled the bolt. It took me over an hour to get it clean, but there is still some in it. That crap was inside the bolt body too!
I think I'll disasembele completely, soak it in cleaner of some form or another and spray it out with compressed air! Any other sugestions?
The second thing, was the stock inletting around the action was pretty poor. There is close to a 1/16 of an inch gap around the action! I guess that leaves me some room for bedding, but I'd rather see wood there than plastic! Since it was the only blued Feather weight we could find in three states chambered in 325, and I still havn't seen another in over three weeks of looking on the net... It will be just fine once I get it up to snuff.
She's got asperations of blooding it on an eland and black wildebeest! God help my check book!
