SnellstromNeed to turn down the Bolt, send it to who?
I've got a Husky 640 and I need the bolt turned down, recontoured etc. to accomodate a low scope mounting. Won't be a show rifle but I want it done right, who do you all suggest I send it off to?
The only "smith" I found so far is Bob at Bobsgun.com who specializes in this, anybody know good or bad on Bob?

22WRFI think Thomas Burgess does that work. I also think that Jim Kobe does that work. I am sure that there has to be a few Smiths in Colorado that do that type of work. Perhaps Gunmaker might do it for you. If you look at the photos of his current project here on AR (entitled Christmas Mauser) you will see a new bolt handle on the VZ-24 his is doing. And there has to be a few Smiths in Colorado that do it. A good bolt handle job is going to cost you darn near a hundred dollar bill. If you plan on keeping the rifle a long time for your own use then it would be wise to spring for checkering on a couple of panels as well.
