Mauser bolt w/speed lock
Does anyone have a picture comparing commercial mauser bolts side-by-side -- standard bolt versus one with a speed lock?

Search this forum, I think I posted pictures several years ago. In the meantime I'll look and see if I still have them -- S40

South40 you did but it the link is now bad.

Here is a crapy picture. I'm too lazy to pull out the tripod during halftime. The right is the speedlock. The cocking piece sits on a notch not the rear of the bolt body.

As usual just my $.02

Nothing wrong with them. Just a little harder to fit a 3 position safety.

Is it a "speedlock" because the firing pin makes a shorter trip?

Not sure what you are reading.

I have about 50/50 speedlocks in my MKXs. I have never had one to fail to fire.
