Pre War barrel band/sling eye size?

Steve Button is ready to make our barrel band slings but he needs to know the diamiter of the eye hole.

The are to be able to use the leather thong type slings. These are Pre War style British rifles. They would be similar to Mauser type A rifle barrel bands also I believe.

I was thinking I remembered them being 3/16"?

I should have pics of them to post later this week.

Two old Mausers; .195" and .214"
Two older Brit double rifles: .235" 209"

Thanks guys.
Steve is going to go with a hole just under .022".

He was polishing Heather's 8x57 action till about 9:30 pm last night!
