The other day I read one of your posts that mentioned that D'Arcy would only work on M-70 Classic actions. I was puzzled by this as I have recently been discussing a project with D'Arcy on a G33/40 action. So, while I was at the range with D'Arcy on Friday, I asked him if this was the case? D'Arcy emphatically said, "No, I have and will use when requested a variety of actions provided they meet my inspection approval. These include the Large and Small ring, K, Std length and true Magnum length '98 Mausers, Pre-64 and current Classic M-70 actions, Remington 700's, Hagn and Ruger Single shots, Enfield's, Springfield's, Winchester M-52's, etc. However, the Legends are only offered in the current M-70. I have built 5 Legends using the Pre-64 action but will probably not do many more of these due to the fact that the current Legend retro-fit parts are not interchangeable, nor is there a readily availiable supply of Pre-64 replacement parts for those actions that have been "gunsmithed" or parts that are worn out."

I had once asked Mr. Echols if it was possible to make an attractive rifle off a Rem 700. I knew I had somewhere a pic he sent showing it indeed can be done. I was able to find it and resized it for you guys. (original was much larger).

Thank you for the information. That is a much different list than I heard on the telephone a few years ago.

Dago Red, I hope someone blows up that photo and posts it all over the halls of Remington. They made a significant improvement going to the CDL but this is the best looking Remington I've ever seen. My congratulations to the artist.

This is the picture Remington needs to emulate to present a better product to the masses.

Notice no seperate recoil lug? Very nice.

Notice that stock! Wow! You should see that checkering work at 8 inches. It still looks perfect. Artistry at its finest.

D'Arcy's stockwork is incredible I'm sorry that I have only seen a couple of the ones done in wood. I believe he was a stockmaker first and foremost and began doing the whole projects himself because it was the only way to get the quality that he demands.

I wonder how many 700 fans are now saying "hmmmm, where's D'Arcy's phone number.....?"
