fordnutterConvert kimber montana 243 into 22-250???
What problems would there be rebarreling a kimber montana 243 to 22-250? Would you expect any feeding issues? Whould the bolt face need to be reduced in size for the smaller rim?

ramrod340I can't speak to feeding issue doing the change in a Kimber. I have done it with a MKX and had none.
The heads of the 243 and 22-250 are the same size.

Savage_99fordnutter,
Since the 243 will shoot 55 and 58 gr bullets just like the 22-250 will I would leave it be.

ffffgthe 22 250 is wind sensitive compared to the 6mm.. Its easer to calculate bullet drop than wind deflection with rangefinders.. You may be different than me. I live in montana, got a 6mm and it was much better in this windy state. and sold a darn fine 22 250. . Recoil and noise could be an issue for changes tho.. your choice.. dave

SWDThe rim dia. is the same. Should feed fine. Put a new barrel on it and have fun! I would go 24" or longer. 22-250 Ackley is a lot of fun too.
