Action for a 6mm Dasher
I have a 243 remington vls, that I would sure like to make it into a 6 dasher, my question is, is a short action long enough to make a repeater, or just go with a savage target and single shot

Yep, SA Rem 700 will work. Last one I did I used bottom metal that accepted ACI mags. Had to 'block' the mags to make 'um feed right. Probably have to do the same with the 'factory' internal magazine. Decide on how much block, shorten spring and follower,,, the standard 'drill'.

A spacer was screwed to the back of the magazine boxes (on the inside) and the spring and follower were shortened accordingly for ease of movement without exessive play. Without the block, when the head end of the case being fed reached the neck of the cartridge underneath it, control of the round being fed was lost by the magazine and the action, so it just wallowed around and couldn't find it's way into the chamber. It's a "hand-off", from magazine to the action/chamber. "Hand-off" too soon and loose control,,, try to "hand-off" too late and it'll bind up. Hope that made sense.
