22.4mm wide rear, 20mm front, 85mm long. If your real question is will a standard 8mm military box work, the answer is yes.

20.00mm front. 22.40mm rear 85.oomm long

Thanks guys.
I have Speeds book Orignial Oberndorf Sporting Rifles, but it's in storage at moment.

Reason I ask is I'm gathering parts to build a Mauser Type A rifle with the exception of havng 1 standing & 3 folding instead of 1 standing & 4 folding of the Type A.

I'm going to use Swift/Blackburn Small Oberndorf Bottom Metal.

I have two choices.

The #21 9.3x64 box with front width of .762 and rear of .939, or the #22 06 box with front width .698 and rear .885.

I want to be able to hold 5 down and close bolt.

The #21 front is .019 narrower and the rear is .064 wider.

Or the #22 the front is .083 narrower and the rear is .01 wider

Both are 3.42 long. All of these dimensions are inside.

Which box would work better & have the least amount of working on to take 5 down & close the bolt?

The wider one at the rear. But it will be wider than your receiver opening. Which might not matter.
