I buy my dye from the boat supply. I havent done it in yrs, but used black liquid shoe polish, not sure it the best.

I have a couple black dye packets that come with the kits collecting dust if you want one.

Customstox
Lamp black or stove black, if you can find it anymore. It used to be used to dress up old pot bellied stoves. You can also salvage the powder out of old copy machine cartridges, it works great.

Get the dye from a marine place and make sure its for epoxy.[Wests Epoxy or the like] It works good.

If your around a fair sized city, Woodcrafters carries black, brown and white dye for epoxies. $7.50 and if you do 1 stock a week you'll run out in a life time.
