Gluing Plastic
The front end of the Objective Adjustment ring on my 3-9 El Paso Weaver scope fell off. What kind of glue should I use to reattach it? Thanks, BruceB

I would clean it with alcohol and probably use super glue if it is normally a really tight fit.

The trick with using super glue is to make sure you are using a good quality glue that is fresh (they degrade a little over time). To do this go to a larger hobby or model store and buy a small bottle of it there. I usually just get the "super thin", "super fast" or "super hot" variety. If I need a gel I usually go with an epoxy.

Now if your ring is loose I would probably use an epoxy. I am saying probably all the time here because I'd have to look at it to really decide. JB Weld is a good choice unless you need the glue to be clear.

I'd go with JB Weld. It's thicker, so it will stay in place easier. Plus, it's not INSTANT-hold, so you have some fudge room. Use a damp sponge to wipe off any excess that seeps out of the joint when you press the two parts together.
