Grizzly AdamsBaser R-93 Unsafe?
Hello;
I just picked up a thread on a German Web-site, that claims there have been injuries and a number of fatalities while shooting the Blaser R-93. Anybody out there had any problems?

Hello Johan,
I saw a post in the
Wild-und-Hund forums about the incidents. Haven't really read it, though, since on a german board, any discussion about Blaser leads to heated arguments every time.

SaeedGentlemen,
I have heard of these for quite some time now, and one experience we had with a Blaser might through some light on this.
We had one of our friends try to load the rifle quickly for a follow up shot, and he did not close the bolt completely. The rifle misfired.
There was a slight indent on the primer, which was not hard enough to fire the round.
I would imagine if that round had a sensitive primer, it might have gone off, and I would imagine the action was not fully closed.
This of course might have caused some problems.
This is only a thought, though, as we did not check what was going on to be certain.
The rifle fired as usual afterwards.

rdashI still shoot mine, but I agree - it feels cheap and wasn't entirely so. There has been a major product recall as there was some dire problem with either the trigger mech or the safety catch. IIRC some pins were made from incorrect type of steel.
