Reboring, costs and quality?
I assume it is possible to rebore a 243 to 260, what accuracy is to be expected?

Who does good work? Costs?

Thanks.

Jim Dubell, took over Cliff LaBounty's business. 295.00 for the reboring. He took my Rem. model 30 .30-06 and rebore it to a .338-06. Wonderful and timely work. Shoots MOA. Minimum breakin or rather fouling was minimum compared to other barrels for break-in. Does exceptional work and I have nothing but high regard for him. Easy to communicate and just darn easy to shoot the bull.

Jim took my 7.9 barrel to 9.3 and being an old barrel salesman I checked it out closely. The quality is topnotch. It borescopes good and the twist is constant.

Depends on existing rifling only going from 6mm to 6.5. It may not clean up until you get to 7mm.

Most lands and grooves are shallow, but you may have trouble with the chamber as it is not affected by the rebore. The 243 chamber and 260 are the same except the neck. The new rebore may end up off center to the chamber.

Thanks guys, was considering a Ruger #1, reboring, but it may be best to rebarrel and not chance things, sell the original barrel to offset costs.

Danny Pedersen has done two 9.3x64's for me, both were originally pre 64 30/06 barrels and both are excellent shooters. He is in the process of doing a 10.75x68 for me. Good guy.
