New Project
Got bored last week and whipped up this piece. It is a .58 cal Flintlock, which converts to percussion in case you lose your flints. Or converts to flint in case you lose your caps. Spalted Maple stock. 32 inch barrel. Good thing about summer is that it only takes 1.5 days for browning.

Wow! You should get bored more often. Cool idea. Love the stock too!

Better yet, you should get bored at my house. Whistling

That is awesome! WHat is the rate of twist?

Twist on this barrel is one in 60; it is an old Orion barrel I had laying around. It does stabilize 250 grain .45 jacketed bullet with sabots though; I had it at the range today; it works well with flints and caps. I built it up to test the concept.
You guys know that spalted maple is created by mold in the wood, like blue cheese.

Clever idea for the lock. I've never seen one like that. Changing from one to the other must be quick. Well done! The rest of the rifle is great also. The lock just really caught my eye.

Changing over is done with a coin and takes 15 seconds.
