Pre 64 trigger,
I have a pre 64 featherweight model 70, (actualy I have 2
1 is at pac-nor having a barrel installed, but it,(a .270) has a canjar trigger. I like it alot better than the stock trigger on the .308 I just aquired. The trigger on the .308 is very crisp but heavy. I tried to adjut it but I think it is light as it will go. Mabye I could get a lighter spring ?
Or mabye I will have to replace the trigger itself. I will check the timny web site and see if they make one. any sugjestions or advise would be apreciated. Any one know of a source for a canjar? ...tj3006

I Know everyone will tell you to leave the m 70 trigger . It's the best, simplest hunting trigger design. My rifle like yours only got down to a little less than 4 lbs with both the lock nuts still on there. You could take one off and that would lighten the spring.
Or find a lighter spring for it.

All my M70s are clean crisp triggers.

A pre 64 without the factory trigger is like a '66 427 corvette with a 350 motor swap

The M70 trigger is better than the Canjar for a hunting rifle. How light do you want to go?

Here is a site with the basics.
