I'm trying to remove the stocks from a mod. 63 Win. Is there a special tool needed for the butt stock...does the butt stock tube unscrew, releasing the stock?

Rmove the two butt plate screws, the butt plate will come off and it will be evident. There is a threaded sleeve that holds the stock on the tub and it has slots on opposite sides. Drive that off ( by turning it counterclockwise) and the stock will come off.
