Sometimes FAC of America (www.gunsnstuff.net) has the
VZ 24 Mauser Actions for sale. Somewhere around $60.00.
You will need an FFL or go thru a FFL dealer to get one.
I have never ordered from FAC, but plan to order some hard to find pistol grips in the near future.
I have three VZ 24 rifles, two of which I'm going to turn into a 25-06 and maybe a .220 Swift.

don't chop up that k98 mauser. There are plenty of vz 24 and 98/22 mausers that can be had for less than $80. infact last year I bought a 98/22 from sog for $59.

Look at Samco Inc. The have some Persian Mausers right now, barreled actions and recievers. These are M98/29 actions and are very good actions and desirable for custom rifles. The price for special select is $180.00 which is a little pricey but these are very good actions and really in the top tier of desirable mauser actions.
