Win.Fwt stock vs Model70 stock
I love this forum! Another dumb question regarding my Fwt. I have a stock from a Model 70 7mm Mag that was restocked with a Bell and Carlson. It looks like this would fit on my Fwt. The stock on the Fwt. is like a piece of 2x4, whereas the Model 70 stock is quite nice. Is this a feasible switch? Are the actions the same-it looks so to me? The Fwt. is a .30-06. Thanks-karl

Assuming both your 30-06 featherweight and 7mm mag are post 1964 rifles (either the push feed or the new classics) then then stock from your 7mm mag will fit on your featherweight I believe. There will be a rather large gap between the barrel and the barrel channel because the featherweight barrel contour is smaller than the standard contour.

Boltman-This should work in my favor shouldn't it, as I plan to re-chamber to .338-06 and this would allow more lattitude in barrel selection. Thanks-Karl
