FN FAL work
Just picked up a FN Imbel, would like to get a new metric parts kit and assembly work done on it. Any input would be great

Try www.arizonaresponsesystems.com...I have had a couple of friends use them and they have been very happy. You also might surf the FN/FAL forum. When I clicked on the address in this post, it came up unavailable. If you type the address in your address search, it should come up. Not sure why.

Join the FAL Files if you have not already and do some reading in their forum. There's lots of FAL enthusiasts out there who could help you build a kit rifle.

As to metric FAL kits, I think Interordnance has a few left for about $300. Or, you can watch the FAL Files "Marketplace" forum and buy one off another member. I bought an IMBEL kit a couple months back for about $200 that'll be off to a gunsmith to be headspaced after my tax refund check arrives.

Good luck!

I built metric FALs on IMBEL receivers and inch pattern on Entreprise receivers 10 years ago. I did the Austrian, Australian, and Brit kits.

I will never shoot any of them again. They are too hard to get accurate.

Now I take Mausers, Ruger #1s, 10/22s, and AR15s to the range. They can be made accurate.

What does it all mean?
I wouldn't want to see anyone invest too much time into a FAL, SKS, or AK without being warned about the lack of ultimate accuracy.

But if you must screw around with FALs:

The ratio at FAL Files of helpful posters to snotty egotistical posers is like anywhere else on the internet, 1 to 10.

Mark [gunplumber] is a helpful poster.
