Dan@MRC: LH M99 bottom metal
Dan,

When my left-hand M99 ships, what bottom metal will the action have?

I am looking forward to this second action, so I have to keep busy with something. [Wink]

Jim,
The bottom metal we are using now is machined locally for us. It is similar to the original design with a few improvements. The trigger bow has been narrowed out slightly to give it a better look. The nice thing is that it is done locally so we have better control over the production.

Dan,

I am building prototypes for a proposed line of PH stopping rifles, the first two M99 actions I ordered are RH (received) and LH (coming soon I hope).

Will the fit of the new bottom metal be the same as the previous bottom metal from Williams (at least it has the Williams "W" on it), or do I have to have another change to the stock pattern for the LH rifles?

thanks...jim

Jim,
No the bottom metal should be very similar in fit as the previous bottom metal. There shouldn't be a huge difference
