Re: Investment cast recievers?
As far as I know M70 is not cast, M700 uses tubular steel like a pipe, Dakota is solid stock, Ruger is investment cast, others i'm not aware.

Is there a problem with investment cast receivers? I would have thought that there would be a number of advantages (apart from machining costs) such as evenness of stress, etc.,?

As far as I am aware the only disadvantage is image and that does not come into play until expensive rifles are based on the action.
