<gone hunting>scope mount for Wincherster 70
i need to mount a weaver 3-9x38 on a full length winchester 70. which scope mount and ring combo will give me useable eye relief?

500grainsSince you are starting from scratch, Talley is the only way to go.
But Talley rings will outclass that scope, so you may want to consider a Leuopld.

not my scope or rifle
it has leupold "redfield style" mount and rings, but needs offset to the rear at least 1" to be useable
for a $99 scope it sure is clear!

<Doc in Texas>Hey Gone hunting I have the same combo I had to get a reversable base or a Extended front ring to make mine work. Most of the Leopolds and redfield base are the Reversable type.
