A friend asked me to post this. Anyone have a bolt assy. for a Remington 788? He needs one for a short action with the .473 bolt face... I.E., .22-250, .243, or .308. Tried all the usual sources...Thanks.

You'd have to be insanely lucky to find a used one. Unavailable from Remington since forever. As they did have weak handle attachment - if this is the problem, there are a few smiths that can reattach them successfully. Let us know, and we'll find some pointers.

Jim Wisner was planning on a repro, though:

wisners has discontinued making them or never made them at all according to their website. Too bad...need one.

And I even know where there is a .30-30 without a bolt. You think just finding any bolt is a problem, you should try to find one for this.
