MasteriflemanMAGNIFICENT! As a former "hack" gunsmith, I admire real craftsmanship and you and Roger are a team that epitomizes art in firearms. Those are truly beautiful rifles.

This is where a pair of Wiebe's beats a full house of off the shelf stuff, by a mile.

+1

I don't know how many times I have dreamed up a pair of .375 and .300 H&H but honestly they look much better than the ones I dreamed of.
Gorgeous doesn't even begin to describe the work.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.
A fantastic pair. Well thought out.
Thanks for the pictures. The pictures of the rifle coming together are amazing! The last two gunsmiths I've worked with didn't mind doing it. I think it adds so much to the job to be able to see the skill and creativity that goes into it.
Thanks again,
Terry

stockerDuane: Assuming you have incorporated a bit of cast-off in the stocks how do you lay out the extended tangs? Boggles my mind trying to calculate how to accomplish cast off and keep both sides of the tangs at common angles. Or, are they?
stocker
29 March 2009, 02:34
Duane WiebeStocker: Good point...I usually start the cast at the point of the comb on top and just behind the grip cap on the bottom. So...yes, the extension from the point of the comb rearward is bent!
Should cast be required at the comb nose, you just gotta follow the center line.

Great work.

Perfection, my admiration goes far beyond words.
Duane, if we skimped on the engraving how much would something like this cost?
If I started sending you $500 a month how many years before I could actually shoot my own rifle?

secondly their not mine !.
Indeed a gifted Craftsman !!!.
