Installing a new trigger DIY?
I purchased a Jewell trigger for one of my guns. It is a Remington model 700. Is this do it yourself, or should I take it to a gunsmith?

Jim,

Gunsmiths are for fixing the DIY screw-ups and this should give you more billable hours than doing it right the first time jumping

Andy,

Seriously, Trigger replacement seems a good starting point for gunsmithing on your own gun. I have done a whopping total of 2. Roll Eyes They both work fine. I didn't adjust the weight of the pull - the manufacturers setting was fine for me.

Thanks for the input guys. I even went out and bought a fancy digital trigger scale. Don't worry Jim I have no intentions of turning "pro"!

Never done a Jewell, but the Timney for my Ruger was simple. Adjusting the safety was slow going. Bob
