AfrikaanderWinchester Mod 70 XTR
Being the owner of two of these rifles (one in .243 win and the other in .300 WM) I wish to know its history and all possible data that distinguish this XTR from all the other Win models ...
Since Winchester own web site doesnt appear to be very useful at all

, I hope any of all the guys here would "enlighten" me ...
Thank you all in advance

TrademarkTexanI think the XTR was the "flagship" line for Winchester from about 1978 through the late 80s, much like the Classic was/is from 1990ish to present.

David ThomasNot sure what XTR means but I also have one in 300 win mag and it is a great rifle. I do not care much for its flashy looks i.e. the whitle line spacers, monte carlo cheek piece, 45* forend, etc... But the gun will shoot like nobodies' business.
Here is a picture of my 300 win with a 2x8 burris signature scope on it.
