elk_chaser1Sako Stock Options...
I have recently acquired a 1960's vintage Sako L461 barreled action in 17-222. Unfired as best I can tell. Would any of you know of where I could get a stock for this action? I would prefer a wood stock and have no problem doing the final finishing - but not prepared to inlet a blank! Thanks in advance!

StonecreekOops, my mistake; I thought you were offering to buy or sell options on stock in the Sako company

I've got some Enron options I want to trade.

A number of pre-inletted (partially inletted) stocks are available for the L461 from the various stock companies. If you don't want to do the fitting and fininshing, watch eBay, where stocks for Sakos often come up for auction. Auction Arms and Gunbroker.com also sometimes have Sako stocks offered. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put a "Want to Buy" post here on the AR classifieds.

jlongoI don't know where you are, but Henry Rodeschin of Rody's Gunshop in Newport, NH does exquisite work. On his work, I can't fit the corner of a $-bill between metal and wood anywhere. He is making a stock for my L-461 heavy barreled 222 as we speak!
(He ain't cheap, though!)

Fish30114Elk chaser, you might want to look at Richards Microfit, they offer inletted stocks that are unfinished (several different grades available) and you apply the finish and checkering if desired. They have a pretty wide range of action inlettings available.

Kevin GulletteI've an older aftermarket L461 single-shot stock. Barrel channel is for a medium-heavy barrel.
If you're interested....give me a holler.
