Showing small parts
A lot of folks show small parts here on the gunsmithing forum.

While I was cruising around today I ran across this site that shows a real good, and cheap setup for photographing small parts. The guy is using it to show knives, but it could also be used to show actions, other small parts, etc.

Easy to set up, and cheap enough to leave set up.

You could make the setup bigger (longer) and use it for entire guns as well.

That is a nice setup. Defused lighting is the key to good photos of knives & guns.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Thanks! I've seen variations of this setup before but your post has given me the ambition to finally make my own.

There is nothing like black hole photography to turn away buyers and admirers. Too many firearms are shot in poor light with a flash and all that results is a black outline.

Thank you Kevin.

I have been looking for one of the discontinued Bogen-Manfroto "mini" stands for macro photography. It has four small light; two on either side. No shadows.

Any leads would be appreciated.

This would be a nice unit to put together as well as adaptable for use with natural north light (maybe with a gray backdrop).

Thanks again for the link.
