What company makes the Bolliger Action, or do they actually make it theirselves.

Blake 70Dean Zolinger in Rexburg, Idaho did all the prototype work on the design and in fact does most of the metalwork for John Bolinger. I am not sure what machine shop they use for production work.

M1TankerBlake 70 is right on about Zollinger. He did all the prototype work on the actions and currently does almost all of the metal work on Bolligers rifles.
The actions are made under contract for Zollinger and Bolliger. Last I checked they were being made by Joseph Brazier for them.

Have you examined one in person?
Who is Joseph Brazier?

M1TankerI have handled several of the actions in Dean Zollingers shop and I am extremely impressed. The quality is outstanding to say the least. i would throw them against ANY of the high end custom actions out there and they would hold their own just fine. Contact Dean and he can give you a lot more info.
Here is a link to Deans website and contact info. Please tell him I referred him to you and he will take great care of you.

Any idea what the price tag is on those actions?

22WRFAbout the only thing I don't like about them is where he chose the trigger to go. For the kind of money he is probably asking that trigger should be a bit further back and follow the lines of the trigger guard.

You would need to contact Dean Zollinger to get a current price. But the last time I checked they were priced very affordable for what you are getting.

M 98A lot of the design features we taken from the Harrie action

eezridrI saw these actions at the SCI show last year. They appear extremely nice double square bridge design and were available in a alloy touted as considerably stronger than 4140. I do not know if it is needed. I believe they are also available in Stainless steel. They are slick as a whistle! Double square bridge and available in an extended drop box.
I have been kicking around a 404 J rifle for over a year. Whether or not to go complete custom and consider a action such as this or get a semi custom like an Empire or Dakota.
My experience with full customs is 2-3 year wait.

butchlambertThe bridges are awfully high.

M1TankerI can tell you for a fact that Dean Zollingers prices are far far less the Harre's 5k. Give him a call - you will be pleasantly surprised at the pricing.
Butch,
Dean will make the bridges to suit the customer. The action in the photo above is how Bolliger likes them and is set up for a Smithson type rings and bases.

22WRFJust for discussion purposes what are the design features of the Harre action.
Do they look like a model 70 but have the Mauser breaching system?
What type of breaching system does this Bolliger action have?
Or, in other words, what makes this Bolliger action desireable? What does it have that others do not that makes it worth the price asked?

M1TankerThose are questions I dont have any answers for. Give Dean a call and he will gladly answer any questions you have.

22WRFIts not for me. I was just thinking that all of those guys that ordered one of those Hein actions that never materialized might be interested in these actions, which appear to be immediately available for purchase.
Or is it the case that they are only available if one has Mr. Bolliger or Mr. Zollinger build the rifle.

Duane WiebeIt would be easy to dismiss this action as another "M-70 clone"
But..I'd like to see one up close..then make judgement .
The man behind this is well respected in gunmaking circles. I suspect his efforts will prove to be out of the ordinary.
