CogitoAnyone here with an export licence?
I want to import a couple of rifles from the US (to Europe), but the FFL dealer I've previously used for this seems to have gone out of business. Is there any dealers here who can get an export permit and are willing to ship to Europe? Or anyone who knows where I can find one?
Thanks,
Cogito
Cogito, I think the simple first step is identify in which state of the USA the rifles you want to have exported are located. It will simplify the logistics if the dealer is nearby. While not exhaustive, there are lists of Federal Firearms Licence (FFL) holders who can arrange for the export licence. Here is a link:
http://listings.shotgunnews.com/fflguide/Most will charge you more than the effort really requires, probably because they find it to be a pain in the ass. Best of course is to find a "user friendly" FFL who is in the right location for you. If you let us know from where the rifles are to be shipped maybe an AR member will come up with some info. By the way, they may want you to provide some proof of ownership of the rifles as well as some indication that you have authorization to import the rifles in Norway. Good luck. In the end it might be simpler and much less hassle to come to the US and pick them up, flying back to Norway with them.

CogitoThanks for the advice, guys. I really appreciate it.
@Wink: The rifles are in NY, but can be shipped to any dealer in the US. Of cource, I have a valid norwegian import licence.
@Davaa: I'll check out Simpson Ltd. How much did you pay for the export?
Thanks,
