GrandpasezNeed P-14 Enfield Bolts
I'd even trade 2 Enfield M-17 bolts and a M17
ladder sight for each P-14 bolt. Can anyone help me out.
Oh, and the P-14 bolt needed is the one with the longer
and more rounded left hand locking lug.
They can be stripped bolts.Ed

GrandpasezIt doesn't matter to me who made them,
only that they have long, rounded, left hand lug.
The longer left lug has the front outside of the lug rounded,
whereas the M-17 has the front outside slanted and little
shorter. The slant was used to fit the cone breach used in M-17
guns with 30-06 cases.
Need at least 4 of them and have enough others for trade
for 4 unless we can buy them at affordable price. And if reasonable
we'd buy more.My email is gunowner at journey dot com. Ed

GrandpasezFor our use we don't have a cutout in the barrel.
This is for our 585HE. Which is not a rimmed case, so
no cutout chamfer needed.
For our use it doesn't matter the overall bolt recess debth,
but just how far left lug metal extends forward and is rounded.
Rounded gives the thickness we need. Explanation below.
The rounded front of the left recoil lug we want, gives us the
case support we need when the bolt face is opened up
for our cartridge. On the slanted front recoil lugs, when face is
opened up it gets back into the slant to far and that shortens
the amount it is forward and loses good support for the rim
of our case.
So any bolt with rounded left lug, where the lug is out further
than the rest of the bolt face recess edge, will do. Ed

F. Guffeyquote:
All of my bolts are the shallow recess type. The later ones are marked with a star on the bolt handle.
If I have a part with a star it came off of a Winchester. I have M1917s receivers with P14 bolts, I have P14s with M1917 bolts. I have a P14 with a 30/06 chamber. I have a P14 with a 308 Norma Mag. chamber.
