Where to buy mauser sporter stocks?
Where do folks here buy nice walnut stocks.

At the Stock Market, of course!

Sorry, just couldn't resist. About the only place I know of that might sell a finished walnut stock for a Mauser is Boyds, but I'm not sure what "nice" means. And even "drop in" stocks need quite a bit of work to put together.

Brownell's has them listed, unfinished. Boyd's delivery is suspect. Try Wenig's.

Or if you really want a nice one, a custom, call someone in The ACGG.

The variation goes something like $100.00 for a semi inletted blank to $3000.00 for a custom stock, maybe more.

How "nice" did you have in mind? Big Grin

Ben,
I would stay away from Richards Microfit. The quality is terrible, delivery times are always are never close to being on time, and customer service is lacking.

+1 I've tried them twice. The first was a joke. I gave them a second chance and they were 3 months late and the wrong style when I did get it.

There will be no third time.

And why do they insist on putting the cheesy rosewood fore end and grip cap on. Even after I told them not to. Think how much time they could save!

I've dealt with Richards, Boyds and stockys.

I bought a very nice walnut stock from a guy in upstate NY, and lost his contact info. It had a schnabel (sp?) forend.

Looking for walnut, chck, something that looks like a pre-64 winchester style.

Yeah, that was it. I have one of those. They put urethane on it though. I wonder if I could get then unfinished?

Accurate innovations looks ok, but $750 is more than I want to pay for a chunk of walnut. I think $150 to $250 is more reasonable.

Is Accurate Innovations still in business?

Beware of the Brownell's walnut Mauser stocks. I bought one before and it was total garbeage. The wood was badly warped and kept moving all over the place after it was in my shop. The inletting was pretty atrocious as well. Not to mention that a typical fence post would have better grain as well. I do not even consider them appropriate for making a pattern stock out of it due to the dimensional instability

You know, I have heard some mixed results for some folks with Great American, but in the 6 that I have bought were very good.
