Gents,

Does anyone shoot heavier bullets through a 1-12" 30.06 and how are your results?

I think the heaviest I would practically go would be a 220 grain Nosler Partition but the 200 grain Accubond is a bit of a favourite of mine and is longer than the Partition.

I am having a rifle re-barrelled and can have a 1-12" barrel now or will have to wait 3-4 months for a 1-10", in short.

With thanks,

GH

So... Wait for the 1-10 then is the consensus? Big Grin

I would not take a chance. Seems like the old Weatherbys in 300, made in Germany were 1-12 and had issues with bullets over 180 grains. It is just too close to take a chance on.

The 30 cal tactical market twist of 1-11.25 work, I wouldn't hesitate to use it with a RUM, but may not work at the slower -06 velocities.

Shoot straight, shoot often.
